Leah Swann is a young widow, and trained midwife, who answers the first want ad, hoping to find a husband who will give her security and also be a good father to her unborn baby. What she finds in Cowboy Creek are her childhood friends, Daniel and Will, who traveled west after the war and founded the town, along with their friend, Noah. When Daniel decides that only he is good enough for Leah and proposes to her, promising to love and raise her late husband’s child as his own, Leah accepts and pledges to give Daniel her devotion and loyalty.
Troubles are plentiful in Cowboy Creek over the next few months…lumber thefts, dying cattle and outlaws plague the small town. The inhabitants pray for peace, while Leah prays that she and Daniel can find their way to love and a true marriage.
There are still lots of questions at the end, which will hopefully be answered in the next book, but this is a lovely story with a plethora of detail on life in this growing town, where the inhabitants count on the railroad to bring business and new settlers, and on God to see them through difficult times. Readers who like sweet romances set in the American West will enjoy Want Ad Wedding. ❤
